About
Dr. Nate Otte
Dr. Nate graduated 1st in his class from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 2008. As an Adjunct Faculty clinician in the pediatric department at IU, he is particularly interested children's vision needs. He welcomes patients of all ages and enjoys building relationships with the whole family.
Dr. Nate grew up just outside of Seymour near Cortland. He is married to Jacelyn, and they are kept on their toes by Owen and Bradshaw. They will welcome a baby girl in the fall of 2022. When he isn't working or hanging out with the family, Dr. Nate is training for endurance events and triathlon, with a 50 mile trail run and 13 Ironman finishes under his belt. He looks forward to racing the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii in the upcoming years ahead!
Melissa Carter
Melissa has over 10 years of experience in human resources management and customer service. Her favorite part of working for Dr. Nate’s office is being able to help patients feel welcome and assisting them with their eyewear needs.

Melissa recently moved to Seymour from Southern California with her husband and 3 sons. She loves exploring Indiana and spending time with her family.
Lauren Baughman
Lauren grew up in Seymour. She earned an Associate's Degree in Business Administration and studied medical billing and coding. With 15 years of experience in various aspects of customer service, Lauren will do her best to make sure you enjoy your visit.
Lauren's favorite part of Dr. Nate's office is working with children. When she is not at the office, you will find her reading a good book, watching kdramas, or spending time with her family
Diana Rondinel
Diana was born in Ecuador and raised in Chicago, Illinois and Columbus, Indiana. She has studied Business Administration and earned and Associate Degree in Interior Design. Diana has over 20 years of customer service experience. She enjoys her technician role with Dr. Nate and being part of a team that provides the best patient care. With over 10 years of interpreting experience, she is very happy to help make the experience for the Spanish speaking community more comfortable.

Diana is involved with community volunteer work and is thankful for her loving family.
Rebecca Tackett
Rebecca has worked in the optometric field in Kentucky for over 7 years and is now a certified paraoptometric technician. She is also certified in medical billing and coding. Whatever your vision needs may be, she'll help get them taken care of with a smile!
Rebecca grew up in Trimble County Kentucky. She just moved to Seymour last year with her husband and family--they love it here! Rebecca has two daughters. In her spare time she volunteers 70 hours a month, successfully staying involved in her new community.
Sculpture
The sculpture in front of the office has unique history. It was created by a local metal artist, Nate Montgomery, in 2002. Before it was completed, his neighbor, Mike Hall, bought it as a gift for his wife, Ruth. It sat under a tree in the Hall's yard for 10 years, until Ruth moved away and left it to Dr. Nate, who kept it on his parent's barnyard. When Dr. Nate decided to open his practice in 2013, a colleague suggested he use it as the logo. The years of weather left the sculpture rusty and full of holes, but with the help of Jeff Fugett, Kenny Browning, Nate McKinney, and Dr. Nate's dad, Paul Otte, the sculpture was restored in the fall of 2013. It's painted Allis Chalmers orange, the tractor brand of choice for Dr. Nate's dad. It was installed at the office on March 30, 2014.
